ÖSD Examinations

Yes, it works as follows:
A1, A2, and B2:
Reading, Listening, Writing = written modules
Speaking = oral module

For example, If you fail any one section, either Reading or Listening or Writing section, you must retake the entire written module. 

B1: All four parts can be taken separately.

You will receive your result within a maximum of 5 weeks. The certificate will be available a few days later and can be picked up at the examination center.

Express evaluations take a maximum of 7 days and incur an extra fee. Upon request, express evaluations must be registered at least 8 days before the exam.

For exam levels A1, A2, and B1, you are not allowed to use a dictionary.
For the Zertifikat B2 exam, you may use a bilingual or monolingual dictionary.
For Zertifikat C1 and C2 exams, only a monolingual (German-German) dictionary is allowed.
Electronic dictionaries, language computers, or similar devices are not allowed.

All ÖSD diplomas are valid indefinitely. However, when submitting your certificate to authorities or institutions, there may be time limits (e.g., certificates are generally not accepted if older than two years when presented as proof of German language proficiency for university admission).

You must submit a written medical certificate. You will receive a partial refund of the fees, but not the basic fee.
